Japan will be too hot in 2024.
Today is a national holiday in Japan.
I live in Machida City, a suburb of Tokyo, and it has been extremely hot every day.
In Japan, the humidity is so high that it is hard to breathe when walking outside, and I don’t feel like staying outside for a very long time.
I’ve been staying indoors in the air-conditioned room, but here’s the problem.
Electricity prices in Japan are going up, and I feel uncomfortable leaving the air-conditioning equipment on for long periods of time because of the high cost of electricity.
At night, when the temperature is relatively low, I try to spend as little time as possible without turning on the air conditioner, but when I go to bed, I turn on the air conditioner for about an hour.
Even so, when I wake up in the morning, I sometimes find myself drenched in sweat.
I hear that more and more foreign tourists are coming to Japan these days, but I suspect that they are fed up with the heat in Japan at this time of year.
When going out for various sightseeing, enough water and a handy fan may be a necessity.
Handy fans are popular, especially the type with a cooling plate.
A type of fan that uses a Peltier element to produce cool air to create a cool breeze is beginning to gain popularity for regular fans.
Also popular are vests with fans attached. The number of users, such as construction workers and security guards who work mainly outside, is increasing.
As a general fashion item, they are not very good, so you don’t see many people wearing them on the street.

I have managed to live without relying on such tools very much, but I may buy some items soon.
Anyway, this summer in Japan is too hot.
